Victory for Residents
PLANS to build 200 homes in Whitnash creating a ‘mega cul-de-sac’ have been turned down. Developers AC Lloyd had submitted an application to build a development around the size of 13 football pitches on land off Chesterton Gardens.
Councillor Will Roberts has been supporting the local residents and campaigning against this planning application
He is delighted by this decision:

"This development is basically an add-on to what is already a large Cul-de-Sac, which will make it a mega Cul-de-Sac, built in a piecemeal manner by AC Lloyd. The last phase only completed a few years ago, caused problems for residents around St Fremund Way and they are now facing down the barrel of a gun again with this proposed access route."
In the first Environmental Health Officers report (May 2020), the officer stated: 'Environmental Health received reports from existing residents that vehicle noise from the Chesterton Gardens has already resulted in harm to their amenity. This has resulted inirreversible harmwhich cannot be addressed through current environmental legislation. If granted, the proposed development would be adding to this existing harm. On this basis, Environmental Health objects.'"
