Alix Dearing
I’ve lived in Kenilworth since 1981 and am married with adult children who both attended Kenilworth schools. I received my Geography degree at Manchester University and have had successful careers in both business and teaching, having taught in secondary schools in the local area.
I was elected as a Town and District Councillor for Kenilworth Park Hill Ward in May 2019 since when I’ve been fully active in pursuing residents’ problems. In 2023, I was elected as Town Councillor for Kenilworth Abbey and was Mayor of Kenilworth until May 2024.
On Town Council I sit on the Finance and Planning Committees where I’ve helped to modify the plans for development in the town. I have worked with community organisations to create new signage and developed a range of materials to boost the Visitor Economy. In these roles I have emphasised direct engagement with the local business community.
Living in Sweden for a few years really changed my views on how planning can improve residents’ quality of life. I want to leave this town to our youngsters in a better shape than it is now. I realised that the only way to get real change and sensible solutions to environmental problems such as poor air and building quality, traffic congestion and cycling infrastructure was to join the Green Party – and stand for election. I’m now standing as the Green Party candidate for the Kenilworth and Southam parliamentary constituency.
As a longstanding resident of Kenilworth and the constituency, I believe I have a real understanding of the issues facing voters, and will put public wellbeing and the natural environment at the heart of my campaign. Since the Green Party took control of Kenilworth Town Council and Warwick District Council last year we have made fantastic progress. Now it’s time to step up to the national level and grow the Green Party's influence in Westminster.

- All donations will go towards Alix’s General Election Campaign.
- Any unused funds will support local Green Party campaigns.
- We’re required to run permissibility checks on donations over £500 – this just means you need to be on the electoral register. Checks will be completed as pledges are made. For the same reason, we cannot accept anonymous donations over £500.
- If you make multiple donations to us, they will be aggregated for our reporting to the Electoral Commission. If you donate over £1,500 to us during a year, the Electoral Commission is required to list your name as a donor on their website.
