Councillor Ruggy Singh

For several years I had been encouraged by many of my friends to stand as a councillor which I always thought was not for me. It got to the point where I felt I had to stand for the good of the local community to hold the council to account for their actions or lack of.

I committed to fight for what is right ensure that residents voices are heard and to raise community awareness of issues that would affect residents so they could have their input into these as these issues would affect them.

I chose to stand as a Green Party Candidate as I feel that the Green Party always follow through with what they commit to and based on my own personal experiences with councillors from other parties when I have contacted them have found them to "promise you the world but not have time to listen and then try to fob you off with the moon" is the best way I could describe it with excuses or no explanation or contact whatsoever.

"I have always been impressed by the way that the local Greens listen to residents carefully, work hard and are proactive, but don’t promise things they can’t deliver."
