Zoe Leventhal KC

I am a barrister practising in public law and human rights, with expertise in climate change issues, the planning regime, health & social care, welfare rights, and discrimination. I am currently involved in leading a programme of work on behalf of my profession on the transition to net zero.

I'm proudly standing as the Green Party candidate at the next General Election to become the Member of Parliament for the Kenilworth and Southam constituency , and would love your support in the campaign! Find out more at zoeleventhal.org.uk.

I moved to Kenilworth in 2020 during the pandemic from London, to bring up my children close to our wider family, in a green and peaceful environment. Before moving here, I was a Chair of Governors of our local primary school and a community organiser, setting up eco-events in South London.

I love living in Kenilworth, and I want to make a positive contribution to our wonderful community. My motivation for standing as a candidate is that I want to take action now to ensure my children grow up in a green, thriving and sustainable place, and to stand up for local residents on issues that matter. I am fed up of feeling disempowered by the current political system and by the failure of politicians to act on the climate crisis.

Kenilworth’s green belt, beautiful green spaces and biodiversity all need protecting. In my area, I have supported a group of 200 residents to make cogent objections to proposals for green belt development in Kenilworth South, and I want to do more. I also want to help residents with cutting energy costs and moving to renewable energy. My other key priority is user-friendly cycle and walking routes for everyone in and around Kenilworth - critically, our young people must be able travel to the new school site safely and sustainably.
